Part Bred Dartmoor Ponies

The Dartmoor Pony Society runs a Part-bred register. The Society can, as a Passport Issuing Authority issue passports or alternatively if the pony is registered elsewhere, and already has a Passport, overstamp the Passport.

The Breeding Requirements:

The Part-Bred Dartmoor Pony must be sired by a registered stallion and have a minimum of 25% Dartmoor Blood. One parent or grandparent must be a fully registered Dartmoor Pony. Height at maturity must not exceed 14.2 hh.

Registration Fees

Please note: Due to the introduction of mandatory Microchipping on 1st July 2009 Council reserves the right to amend registration charges once the final requirements of the new Horse Passport legislation are known.

Cost of registration for applications received in the office by 30th June 2009.

Fillies: Members £16 including Passport Non Members £32 inc Passport
Colts: Members £10 including Passport Non Members £20 inc Passport
Geldings*: Members £10 including Passport Non Members £20 inc Passport

*Application must be accompanied by conformation of castration by veterinary Surgeon


Overstamping Cost

The cost of overstamping is £10.00 (Members and Non-Members)


Part-Bred Awards

The Society run a Part-Bred ridden and a Part-Bred in-hand competition. Each competition is open to Members of the Dartmoor Pony Society having purchased a points booklet at the cost of 5.00 for each competition. For further details or to obtain a points booklet please contact:
